Memorandum of Understanding Signing Ceremony
HK Digital Entertainment Association x Tokyo Broadcasting System Holdings, Inc. To Kick-start the Cooperation on Organising the “21st DigiCon6 ASIA Awards” Presentation Ceremony

(HongKong.21st March, 2019, Thursday) The Hong Kong Digital Entertainment Association (HKDEA) will join hands with Tokyo Broadcasting System Holdings, Inc. (TBS), under the sponsorship of Create Hong Kong(CreateHK) of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, to organise the “21st DigiCon6 ASIA Awards” Presentation Ceremony in Hong Kong in November 2019, with screening sessions of the regional gold award winning entries and Asian Master Summit, etc. It is the first time for the DigiCon6 ASIA Awards to hold the Presentation Ceremony outside Japan.

To commemorate the cooperation between HKDEA and TBS in co-organising the Awards Presentation Ceremony in Hong Kong, a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) Signing Ceremony was held at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC) yesterday to kick-start the cooperation partnership.

HKDEA is honoured to have Mr. Victor Tsang, Head of CreateHK as the Guest of Honour of the MOU Signing Ceremony, and presented the Regional Gold Award of the “20th Digicon6 ASIA Awards - Hong Kong” at a certificates presentation ceremony held concurrently. Representing HKDEA and TBS at the MOU Signing Ceremony were Mr. Gabriel Pang, Chairman of HKDEA and Mr. Hiroyasu Oyama, GeneralProducer of DigiCon6 ASIA Headquarters, TBS Holding Inc.

A highly prestigious animated short film competition in Asia with over 2,000 applications each year, the DigiCon6 ASIA Awards aim to identity potential art and creative talent in the region and help them promote their digital content.

In its 21st edition this year, the DigiCon6 ASIA Awards will have 13 participating Asian countries/regions, namely Japan, Mainland China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Thailand, Singapore, Korea, Malaysia, Vietnam, Cambodia, India, Indonesia and the newly added Sri Lanka. Each participating country/region will present its own Regional Gold Award, Silver Awards, Audience Choice Award and Next Generation Award, and the Regional Gold Award Winners will then be nominated to compete in the grand final for various awards. The production teams of theRegional Gold Award winners will also be invited to attend the Awards Presentation Ceremony to be held in Hong Kong. Screening sessions will also be held for the Gold Award winners for the production teams behind these works to exchange their experience in creating animated short films.
